I guess you can officially label me an otaku!:P

So yes, we took a neverending endeavor to Barnes & Noble on what we thought was going to be a nice sunny day on the bus. Turned into a rainy walk halfway home trip, but was well worth getting pretty soaking wet.:P
So, we left about 3:45 in the afternoon, to get on the city bus, got to Barnes & Noble just as it really started pouring down rain pretty good. It was well worth the trip though because I actually picked up volume 11 of Nana, I wanted to see exactly how much it leaves out of the movie and the anime, so far, in just over a couple hours i've finished about 65 or so pages. We also picked up another XXX Holic Manga, and Seargeant Frog for our son.:) And we got the chobits artbook also.:D

And even with all this in one night I don't consider myself insane.:P
I found something I happen to really enjoy.:)
Oh yeah, another funny thing happened yesterday, I forgot the password to log on to my computer, and like right before work, at 5:45AM I figured it out.:P The password hint that I made up was almost irrelevant to what the actual password was, but I knew it has something to do with anime!:P Anyone ever done that? Or am I just that crazy?

Anime voice actors/actresses

So yeah, I said I would talk this time about how I noticed that the same voice actors do alot of different anime characters, and this video would be a perfect example, if you listen kind of closely, you can hear Aya Hirano switching between Konata's and Haruhi's voice. :D

Note that these are all examples from dubbed versions of anime, not subbed.

Yuki Nagato from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is voiced by Michelle Ruff, who also voices the english version of Chi from "Chobits". Crispin Freeman voice actor for Kyon, the protagonist of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" also plays Hideki Motosuwa in "Chobits". Another reason that one caught my attention was how the 2 characters in these anime's seem to be so close to each other, and how Yuki is a "Humanoid Interface", and Chi is a "Persocom", somewhat similar roles. Yet another example, in the dubbed version again of these two anime's is that Wendee Lee plays the voice of Takako Shimizu in "Chobits" and Haruhi Suzumiya in "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". And even yet another example of these 2 anime's, the "Peep Show" manager in "Chobits" and the leader in the "computer club"(?, can't remember if this was the exact term they used?) Dave Wittenburg. Anyway, yes, listen carefully and you will find it is the same voice actor.:). Also last but not least, Kari Wahlgren voiced Kotoko from "Chobits" and also Kyon's sister and Tsuruya-san in "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" There are many other examples from other anime, these were just some examples off the top of my head.

Well, there's your "anime 101" for the day!:) Hope you all enjoyed!:D

My first blogger post!!:D

Hello!:D My name is Leanna Dawn, I am 26, married, and have a 4 year old son. And yes, persocom-san is my husband, I have his blog linked on my page. We are all anime crazy over here!:D My favorite anime that I am working on learning the dance for is "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya".

I found out this dance is actually harder than it looks.

Anyway, back to my life, I am a workaholic as well as an animeholic, I work 2 part time jobs, one of which is at the Olive Garden in Pueblo, Colorado. And it was brought to my attention by one of the cooks there, that they have "Olive Garden Girls" featured on Playboy.com, I thought that was amusing, and here is a little clip about the girl who started it. I will show you the rest of the story in a later post. Sorry if I keep rambling off topic, you'll tend to get used to that with me.

And again back to my life... sorry... Here is a picture of me just to get things started off...

And yes, I did dye my hair jet black (again!:P)
Okay, I think I posted enough for now, if you have any questions or comments for me feel free to leave them here.
In a later post I will talk about how I found that voice actors tend to work together in a lot of anime's and how I realized this, and will also post Aya Hirano doing the voice acting for Haruhi and for Konata (Lucky Star), I thought it was rather cool to see her do this!:D
I will also post some pictures from the anime collection my husband and I have started!:D Some you will find on his page, others I will post myself.:D
Hope to hear from you all soon!:D
